| ...Most of my influences come from anime. Robotech was a huge influence on me growing up and it sort of made up my mind for me as to the direction I wanted to go. The work from artists such as Amano (Final Fantasy), Nagano (Five Star Stories), and Jim Lee (WildCats) are very influential to me. Music is also a big influence in my work. Pennywise, Tree, Deftones, and Spineshank are just a few bands that I listen to which helps me work fast and switch gears on the fly. All my work is done in Photoshop and Max. I enjoy working in 2D more than 3D, but it's good to switch up between the different formats. The 3D work I've done has definitely helped my 2D pieces and I'd encourage any up and coming artists out their to learn some kind of 3D software. - Matt Kresge (5-28-02) |
