These are two pages from an original comic book called "Baba Where You Been?" which was created in 1987. It's a fantasy-laden story concerning high school kids dealing with moral dilemmas of epic proportions. It's typical adolescent issues root it in reality, yet its atypical supernatural elements give it a very dark foreboding atmosphere. Darren Wheeling and Thom Shepherd, who co-wrote and co-illustrated the work, were about to graduate from high school in 1987 so the story's mix of anxiety and nostalgia reflects their moods and feelings about their own future at the time. Thankfully real life has not followed the arc of the comic book story. It may possibly show up in Black Egg Theatre one day so bookmark this site and check back.
